CPL Industries is Europe’s leading and most innovative manufacturer, distributor and wholesaler of solid fuels, employing around 650 people and supplying European markets with over 300,000 tonnes of smokeless fuel per year.
CPL Fuels Ireland was established in 2010 and under the stewardship of Tim Minett and CPL Fuels Ireland MD Niall McGuinness, CPL is delighted to confirm its briquetting plant in Foynes, capable of manufacturing around 200,000 tonnes of smokeless solid fuel each year, is now in its second year of operation.
In cooperation with Nottingham University CPL Industries have developed a hydro thermal carbonisation process which is undergoing commissioning trials in Immingham, UK. This process is capable of converting up to 30,000 tonnes per year of wet waste into biofuels with greater energy content to that of wood pellets.
Through investment and introduction of breakthrough technologies to Ireland, CPL Industries is committed to working with local partnerships in Ireland and has demonstrated that commitment through the Foynes plant.
Our next step will be to bring these HTC technologies to Ireland.
